A truck plowed into (Israeli) troops in an Arab neighbourhood of occupied East Jerusalem Sunday, killing four soldiers and injuring at least 15 in what police called a ramming attack, according to Israel Radio. It said troops on the scene shot the driver who died of his wounds. The (Israeli) police chief called the incident a vehicular attack.
The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the driver as 28-year-old Fadi Kanbar, a resident of East Jerusalem's Jabal Mukabber neighbourhood, and said (Israeli) forces raided the area where he lived.
Police said the soldiers were getting off a bus at a promenade in Armon Hanatziv, a settlement southeast of Jerusalem built on Arab land, when a flatbed truck ran into them.
They said the number of dead or injured could rise as some soldiers were stuck under the truck.
